How is a patient's physical condition evaluated before plastic surgery?

Before any surgery, patients will undergo a complete pre-testing series of appointments. The cost of these tests will be borne by the patient. After receiving the results, the doctor will assess whether the patient is fit for surgery. For patients with a high BMI, the safest BMI for surgery is recommended to be no more than 32 to avoid risks from anesthesia, post-surgery complications, poor wound healing, and infections.

When can the surgery be performed?

After consultation and physical examination, if all conditions are met, surgery can be scheduled within 2-7 business days.

When will I know the exact cost of the surgery?

You will receive a confirmed surgery plan and quotation after a face-to-face consultation with the doctor. The price quoted will be in Thai Baht. Any changes from either party will be communicated in writing in advance.

What is included in the surgery package?

The price includes hospital fees, operating room, anesthesiologist, and surgeon fees, a private single room, standard meals, medications, and medical supplies. Upon discharge, patients will receive a set of medications, including antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, swelling reducers, and painkillers. The package does not include additional accessories to optimize surgery results, such as compression garments for liposuction or other supplementary items, nor does it cover additional hospital expenses like phone calls, extra meals, or drinks beyond the standard provided by the hospital.

Are there any additional costs I should be aware of?

Patients undergoing multiple or complex surgeries, those with pre-existing medical conditions, or those assessed as high-risk for anesthesia may require additional pre-surgery tests, such as lab tests, chest X-rays, or cardiac studies. These additional tests and treatments are not included in the surgery package.

What is the follow-up plan after surgery?

Patients will have a follow-up appointment 12-14 days post-surgery, but no later than 17 days, to have stitches or staples removed, bandages changed, and wound healing checked by a nurse and doctor.

How should I prepare for surgery?

faq

1. Do not eat or drink for at least 8 hours before the scheduled surgery.

2. Stop taking aspirin and all anti-inflammatory medications at least three weeks before surgery, such as ibuprofen, Brufen, Nurofen, Advil, Arcoxia, Celebrex, Feldene, Ponstan, Voltaren, Naproxen, Mobic, and over-the-counter painkillers. You should also stop taking supplements like multivitamins, vitamin E, fish oil, omega-3, ginseng, ginkgo, and evening primrose oil, as these affect blood circulation.

3. Remove artificial or gel nails before surgery to allow accurate oxygen level measurement through your natural nails using a pulse oximeter.

4. If you have your period, surgery will be postponed if it coincides with the scheduled date.

5. If you are taking birth control pills, you can continue taking them as long as you do not have your period during surgery and the surgery duration is less than 4 hours, such as breast augmentation. For surgeries longer than 4 hours, such as breast lift with augmentation or tummy tuck, you must stop taking birth control pills due to increased anesthesia risks and high DVT risk.
